About this place
At Sushi Tsune, anago nigiri has left a particularly strong impression on some diners. You can choose sushi one piece at a time, or put together a meal with a set and hosomaki.
The sets include Jō Sushi (3,500 yen), with 10 pieces of sushi, a small dish and soup, and Tokujo Sushi (4,400 yen), with 12 pieces of sushi, a small dish and soup. They offer a useful guide if you are unsure what to order or want to focus on nigiri. Individual nigiri options include sea bream, horse mackerel, sardine and gizzard shad; one diner has also said the experience helped them appreciate oily fish. Diners who ordered sashimi have praised the careful handling of the fish and its clean, satisfying flavour.
There is a wide choice of hosomaki, too. Alongside familiar natto and cucumber rolls, the menu includes toro-taku, anakyū and salmon belly with salmon roe rolls. Sushi Tsune’s namesake roll contains fatty tuna, pickled daikon, sea urchin, salmon roe and cucumber, and costs 1,650 yen. It stands out if you would like a roll with several layers of filling at the centre of your meal.
Sake options include Suijin, a very dry junmai from Iwate, and Suigei, a junmai ginjo from Kochi. Small plates are also available, and for a leisurely evening with drinks, the otsumami course (5,000 yen) moves from sashimi and snacks to sushi.
